For Amarath! Who wanted to see a mermaid talking to someone:

I thought, “What would a mermaid want to talk about?” And this seemed the natural conclusion.

XD
Rafe: GWEN! Get over here!
Gwen: What? What did I do… oh… crap. I think I’ll need to buy a fishbowl to fix this one.

I am rolling on the floor, laughing.

lol It’s so cute! I kind of want one. :3 I really enjoy Amarath’s mermaid design too! ^_^
“You know, I think I saw that looking at me from a steaming pot of terror the other day…”
“WHAT?!”
“Uh–nothing! I’m sure you’ll find Madame Fluffykins soon!”

It’s so cute! I hope Rafe helps him/her out. (Although now that I think of it, it’s not like ‘Madame Fluffykins’ wasn’t enjoying itself…)
I second KitFang, that mermaid design is awesome.

So I’m not the only one who made the connection between this and the last picture? XD
That is so absolutely perfect, Aja. I love your ability to take a simple, easily mundane suggestion, and turn it into something really eye-catching and funny with a story behind it! (Not that the suggestion was mundane; I just mean that it woulda been easy to be like, “Oh, here’s an Ariel-esque mermaid talking to a fish. Weee.” Which of course you would never do, ’cause you’re too creative for that.
)
A water-proof scroll? Genius! That will save so much time, now that merpeople don’t have to run around with rock-carvings, or even worse, holding their NOT waterproof scrolls just above the water to keep them dry!
I really like Rafe now. And I know nothing about him except from these two pictures. =3

Riverfox, Rafe is very, very smug because of your comment. Like, insanely so. I’d be annoyed at you, but I can’t help but love the grumpy sod m’self.

@Xiao: XD Glad I could be of service. Sorry, didn’t realize he was the type to get smug; I’ve only seen him in goofy situations that make me want to laugh at him so far.
January 27th, 2010 at 6:12 AM
He doesn’t get smug too often – he already knows he’s the best at what he does, and what he does is kick ass. Or something. And hey, at least when he’s smug he’s not… irritated. *twitch*

Thanks, guys!
I also love Amarath’s character design. A mermaid who really looks like a sea creature — very cool!
“[...]or even worse, holding their NOT waterproof scrolls just above the water to keep them dry!”
Heeee, Riverfox. XD That mental image is pure gold.

haha! That made me laugh so much.
Love the expressions.

@Aja: ;D Thought you’d like that! I can see it now: a puzzled sailor looking off the bow of his ship as a green hand grasping a scroll swims casually by.
January 29th, 2010 at 8:26 AM
XD I am laughing way out of all proportion for that comment, Fox! *giggles* Such a wonderful mental image! *thud rofl*

I laughed the first time but now I’m kinda sad the mermaid lost her friend.

Aww. At least Rafe can probably bring it back. It didn’t seem to be suffering any ill effects from being a potion ingredient.
