Queen of Roses

For Elizabeth McCoy! This is the cover art for her thoroughly enjoyable space opera novel, Queen of Roses:

The official teaser says it best:

Sarafina was content to be an accountant, insulated from the public as she kept the numbers behaving and played chess with her fellows. But when the First Daris Bank is bought out, her indenture is sold to a cruise ship and Sarafina is thrust into a job she was never meant for. Now she’s dealing with a motley crew, drunkard captain, flirtatious first officer, fire-sale equipment, and worst of all . . . Passengers.

The author was kind enough to give me a free copy of the story text, and it kept me happily entertained while I was drawing this. :D Especially the bits with Sapient Loren (one of the awesome A.I. characters). Who would’ve thought that a computer could be so suave?

Anyway, check it out! You can download and read the story at Amazon or Smashwords. ♥

Through a Mirror Darkly

For Drake! It’s Rowan, Alysandir and The Angels re-imagined with a darker Victorian twist, a la League of Extraordinary Gentlemen:

(Larger version here.)

From the left, we have: Max, the mad scientist; Ria, the heiress who funds the team’s exploits; Beth, turned into a vampire but still the group’s protector; Rowan, the enchantress; and Alysandir, the hard-core monster hunter currently under Rowan’s thrall.

One of the coolest concepts (and possibly the most detailed portrait) that I’ve gotten to work on so far. ♥

Tales of Elsewhen

Part of a collaborative project that I worked on for a few months! It’s David Hunter’s comic; he created the story and characters, and did all the plotting and scripting. I drew the art to go with it:

Prologue
Chapter 1

Alas, since the project was cancelled, that’s all there’s going to be. It was a real treat to work on it, though, and I’m glad for the experience. ♥
