J16 – Aja and Vetinari
For DarkMousy! Who wanted to see me(!) and Lord Vetinari chillin’ on a tropical beach:

“Ah, Drumknott… be so good as to escort this googly-eyed creature elsewhere.”
“Certainly, sir. And the crab?”
“It can stay.”
P.S. That is a real hat, and someday I will own it. 8D I tried it on at a custom hat booth at the Discworld convention last year. It was like… the ultimate pirate’s dream hat. Three-foot-long white feathers and roses all over the place, with a little model ship on the back. SO FABULOUS.
The sketch doesn’t do it justice at all, but I had to include it. ♥

XD That is SO GREAT. Look at you, bein’ all fangirly. And great addition with him wanting the crab to stay. Pfff, I love the ’0.o look on his face there.
That does indeed sound like an AMAZING hat. I hope you succeed in getting it somdeday! ;D

*raucous applause and hooting, confetti flies and noisemakers sound* Woooooo! Wonderful job–as always–this year, Aja!
(I admit, I long for more though. But that’s nothing new. ^_~ )
I love the little heart in the spyglass, but I think my favorite thing here is (what I perceive as) the slight pouty lip Vetinari is sporting. XD He’s like, “Why does this always happen? B/ ”
It’s great that there’s no confusion as to which googly-eyed creature he’s talking about. lol
That hat rocks.
Thank you again for this most awesome yearly event! We love you, Aja! <3

I love your take on Lord Vetinari.

…Aaaaand, I’d typed quite a bit after that, but it got cut off for some reason. Pooh.

*squeal* Oh man, your Vetinari is just awesome, especially with his ‘Oh god, not AGAIN’ expression.
Because I gotta tell you, I would be right next to you making little squee noises, I love Vetinari so, so much. (I still reckon Alan Rickman would have made a much better Vetinari than Jeremy Irons, even though Irons was pretty badass. Imagine Vetinari’s lines in that voice…)
This has completely ROCKED! What an awesome couple of weeks!

Thank you for the kind words, and you’re all most welcome! I had a great time with the sketching, and I’m happy that you guys have enjoyed the last couple weeks.
*hugs all around*
@KitFang: Quite an accurate emoticon, that. B/ (And well done spotting the heart. XD I seem to have included a lot of those this year.)
@DarkMousy: Dang, sorry about that. I’m still not sure what makes that happen, but I think WordPress sometimes has trouble dealing with pointed brackets. I’m glad you like the sketch, though!
@Xiao: Ooh, yes. You might have known this already, but I found out at NADWCon that Alan Rickman was Terry Pratchett’s first choice for the role. (He wanted “the bad guy from Die Hard.”)
Perhaps it will still happen in a future movie!
Alan Rickman + Vetinari = Ultimate Win. ♥
