How fast do these toads grow?
How old was the gigantor toad that tried to eat Kiku?
And are they like real life toads that will eat anything that will fit into their mouths? Including smaller toads of the same species? (They're like pigs in that way. They'll eat anything.)

About as fast as real-world toads, but their maximum size is bigger. They usually stop growing at around "beach ball" size.

Its age is somewhere in the double digits, but its gigantor-ness may have more to do with a unique food source.

They'll eat anything except other toads (because that would be sad).

Are the gigantoad and the smol toads the same species?
Regarding the comic, the new format suits you well, Madam Aja. I really like the... umm... I don't remember the word... curly things... you know... the curly things... separating the flashback from the... well, you get what I mean. You are good at prose and art and this new format really lets you shine. 
What kind of relationship do the smol toads have with the gigantoad? Is it their king? What kind of government does toad socie- *is suddenly pulled off the stage by a long black cane*

Hopefully, a different kind of society than normal toads have. *shudder* |

Yep!

The little guys have learned that if something is chasing them, they can train-to-zone to the gigantoad, who will helpfully eat whatever is bothering them. (Whether that's because it has an instinct to protect them, or it's just eager to eat anything within reach, who can say?)
Also, I'm very happy to hear that the new format is working for you.

Almost certainly, considering my limited knowledge of normal toads. XD (I did google "weird toad facts" just for this scene, but I had a feeling not to research too deeply...)
