A post war movie, would be interesting. Where does the world go from here? What happens to the Jaeger's? Are they decommissioned because they appear to not be needed? Are the in use as part of a corrupt governments iron fist rule. You got the mech, you can make the rules.
So I suppose one could make a few movies, though most ideas seem like a movie wouldn't do it justice, and it needs a series. |

Well, it's easy enough to answer the second question, seeing as how the last 4 active jaegers got destroyed during the course of the movie. It's unlikely that anyone would be lining up to build more without the threat of further Kaiju attacks.
I don't think the Jaegers would be a particularly effective weapon of war as they stand. Just too big, too expensive and too limited to use against anything that isn't just as big. I mean, for the material cost of a single jaeger you could have a couple dozen tanks that would be far more maneuverable and far more flexible than a single Jaeger. Maybe you could use the jaeger control tech to shrink them to smaller sizes to make them more usable, but in nearly every imaginable case, a giant humanoid robot is a terrible choice for a weapon platform. _________________
