Since the last update, we've raised $29 in patronage, and reached the $400 milestone (our minimum break-even point). Huzzah! Thank you so much to Kat, Galen, and a very generous anonymous patron! ♥

I'll keep working hard to reach that full-time income goal. In the meantime, it's wonderful to feel a little safer. Many thanks to everyone who is supporting True Magic! It means the world to us.

In other news: I've missed posting recommendations here, so...

For anyone who may need some stress relief, here's another nice track from a channel I've recommended before:

Super Deep Smoothed Brown Noise

It doesn't seem like "noise" would do anything much, but somehow... it's actually noticeably soothing? Kinda feels like listening to a distant waterfall.

I've been playing it in the background, and it certainly helped me relax and focus while writing this post. Maybe it will be helpful to you too. :)

One more note Re: Patreon: I've updated the progress bar to be more current/accurate.

For one thing, I don't know why I had it say "food first" this whole time. Wishful thinking, I guess? When it actually came down to "rent OR food", we were definitely NOT buying food. XD

Also, the $600 milestone was the "bare minimum" mark when I was the only one with income. Now that Co-Author D and I are both earning a little, we can get by as long we're at or above the $400/page mark.

D's entire monthly income is less than the amount of our rent (oof). But if I can earn at least $400 per page with Patreon, then I can just barely cover the rent, and she can just barely pay for everything else. (Again: This is a huge improvement over our previous situation!)

We're not quite there yet, so please consider pledging a dollar or few if you feel comfortable doing so!

Even $1 here and $5 there is a tremendous help — especially if you can pledge this week, because that will contribute directly to our November rent. ♥

Thanks for your patience with all this! (Believe me, I want to stop writing about this even more than you want to stop reading about it.)

And thank you again to everyone who is continuing to support us!

Hopefully I'll have something more fun to talk about next time. :)

Page 572 + Summer Saga Wrap-Up

Page 572 is up! (And the next 5 pages are up early for patrons!)

In case you missed the previous post: Things are better now, thank goodness.

We're more or less back where we started before this summer's big crisis: Now, with our earning powers combined, the co-author and I can juuust about keep up with our essential monthly living costs.

Of course, now that I've seen how quickly "just keeping up" can turn into Emergency Doom Spiral Panic Mode™... I kinda... want to avoid that at all costs.

So I hope you'll understand if I keep our Patreon progress bar active here until we've reached the rest of our funding goals. It seems like the only safe/responsible option is to get to the point where I can cover all expenses myself, without leaning on my roommate's tiny income.

(Also, it would be truly wonderful to earn a full-time living from my work — especially since I'm already putting in full-time effort. I'll keep working hard to improve, and continue to add as much value to the story as I can!)

Most importantly: Thank you again to everyone who is supporting True Magic now — either directly through pledges/donations, or by recommending the comic to other kind people like yourselves.

We very literally would not be here without you. ♥

Thanks for reading!
