Well Cranky and Babs were adults when we were 20-somethings so they're obviously either dead or Time Lords.
And no one will ever know what happened to Skittles. I've seen to it. _________________ A Near Myth |

Grown up, sure.
But I don't think I qualify as an Adult. _________________

Whew... Nope, we're good.
No adults here.
P.S. Cousin Cranky is totally a Time Lord. _________________ "The one concession a sane man will never yield the universe is that of considering it seriously."

Hey Aja. If your cousin's a time lord, doesn't that make you a time lady?
It's good to see you again. And I don't see much of you other guys, either.
I recently moved to one of the coasts, so I don't really know anybody any more. It feels unnatural to stay this far from the middle of North America for so long. I don't want to tip the continent over! _________________ http://alienlife.thecomicseries.com/

I blame brady for throwing the electoral college into chaos. _________________ A Near Myth |

So uhm.
When did the reboot happen around here? Don't get me wrong. I'm the last person to judge a sudden and cataclysmic decision to scorch the slate clean. It's one of my very favorite things to do. New art looks beautiful. _________________ A Near Myth |

Now that you mention it, I was never sure whether Cranky was MY cousin... or Waf's cousin... or just everyone's cousin in general.
Maybe we're ALL Time Lords.

Well it's a funny story.
Back in 2007 and 2008, it was gradually coming to my attention
that the writing in my comic was pretty dreadful.
I actually couldn't stand to read my own archives.
Alas, I didn't know how to define the many problems, let alone solve them.
BUT ONE DAY
I was reading this sci-fi comic called Good Ship Chronicles
(maybe you've heard of it)
and the creator made a post asking if anyone could recommend books on writing.
Someone named Shazzbaa left a comment recommending this book.
I checked it out from the library
and as I turned page after page
the clouds above me parted
and a beam of pure, radiant, divine knowledge illuminated my heart
and I was like, "Oh"
"So THAT's what I've been doing wrong."
So over the course of about a month of vigorous learning
I went from feeling like "My work is terrible but I don't know how to fix it"
to "Hey, maybe I could make a good comic like THIS."
And since there was only one way to find out
I went ahead and rebooted the comic in 2008
and I've been enjoying it a lot ever since.
So the moral of the story
is that the reboot is partially that Good Ship Chronicles guy's fault.
I probably ought to thank him sometime.

Thank you kindly!
...How about you? Were there any particular writing resources that helped you figure out what you wanted to make (and/or how you wanted to make it)? _________________ "The one concession a sane man will never yield the universe is that of considering it seriously."

Not anything explicit. I had a lot of fear of "learning" to write for a long time. Or even trying very hard to be good at it for that matter. I guess I was always a little (lot) afraid that I'd only figure out I couldn't do it very well. I think the 4th failed webcomic clued me into the fact that I was already very successfully not doing it very well.
This is the part where I outline my plan to succeed where I have failed repeatedly in the past.
Right now is that part.
Plan goes here.

Your story so far is quite good, even without the plan. I bet there's more of a plan than I thought. I'm looking forward to getting to know these characters. I hope the horsebrown boy is in a lot of comics. This comic reminds me of the great Goodship Chronicles guy. Of course, I also dig the art.
But True magic's reboot is probably the best choice Aja made. She's done fantastic.
PS Sorry about the electoral college. Man should never venture this close to the edge. Good thing I'm a Time Lord. _________________ http://alienlife.thecomicseries.com/
