With eyes that big, one would have to have a constant stream of tears running to keep them moist and lubricated. It seems likely that they leak on occasion. _________________

So, to avoid having to make a new thread to talk about a movie whenever I see one (as we're coming into summer blockbuster season[BAY-SPLOSIONS!], I expect to be seeing quite a few), I've repurposed this thread into a general movie discussion thread.
I just got out of How to Train Your Dragon (in 3d).
If you haven't seen this one, I highly recomend it. Very entertaining and the 3d was amazing.
Really, how could you not want to see a movie with this guy in it:
Comeon, the dragon is the unholy offspring of lightning and death, and looks like Stitch. How can you not want to see that?
Anyway, if you haven't seen it, change that. If you have seen it, comment.
Also, on the subject of 3d movies, I have to say it's nice that the moviemakers are finding it less neccesary to put in the 3d moments. You know the scenes where for no reason whatsoever the character throws something at the camera or plays paddleball at the camera (or pretty much any verb directed "at the camera"). Those scenes that are just there so you don't forget it's 3d. They've always annoyed the hell out of me, because watching them later in 2d and these scenes are still there, rolling in their own disgusting waste. _________________

Y'know, Toothless is the only character ever that I've ever really fangirled over in my entire life of watching anime, reading books, watching movies, and reading manga. He's adorable. :3 I've even made fanart of him, which is also a first. :3

I haven't seen How To Train Your Dragon yet (I was gonna see it over the weekend, but 4-year-old cousin wanted to see a movie), but I did see Nanny McPhee and the Big Bang.
Okay, I admit it. SERIOUSLY impressed by this movie. The entire thing was brilliant. The writing, the acting, everything. The kids were played *by* kids and actually *behaved* like kids, the struggling mother was wonderful, and the Magic was quite clever.
Love. _________________ Gryphons are better than dragons. Gryphons PURR. |

Allow me to derail this discussion of a whimsical, light hearted family movie and discuss one of the most traumatizing movies I've seen since Monster.
anyone see Precious? _________________ A Near Myth |

So. Noone cares to talk about Precious. Haven't seen it myself (sorry) so I can't really add anything.
How about Kick-Ass?
Went to see it today (despite the awful advertising campaign) on the advisement of co-workers and people on the internet. Suprisingly entertaining, though definitely not (let me emphasize that *NOT*) for kids. This means you, you daft twit who brought little kids. I hope you don't sleep for weeks dealing with fire based nightmares from this flick.
Sorry, tangent there. Bit of a pet peeve of mine I guess.
Anywho... Kick-Ass. Best super hero movie of the year so far.
It can enjoy this title until May 7th, when Iron Man 2 comes out. At that point in time it will quite likely drop from that exalted position. _________________

I really wanted to see that last weekend, but all my friends were busy and/or out of town and/or hanging out with cooler people.
I figure I'll see it this weekend, and I'm looking forward to it WAY more than the Iron Man one. _________________ http://alienlife.thecomicseries.com/

Saw 'How To Train Your Dragon' in 3d. Awwwwww~
The best use of 3D I've ever seen. Beautiful movie, lovely snarky narration, awesome dragons, a wonderful set of relationships between the main characters... Love it love it love it.
And the ashes near the end. SO beautiful. _________________ Gryphons are better than dragons. Gryphons PURR. |

I saw Toy Story 3 over the weekend.. Pixar hit a home run again. It was a fantastic movie. And was hard to not tear up during it. It brought back such good memories.
I also saw Air Bender...... I really don't know how M. Knight is allowed to keep making movies. |

I heard the same thing about Air Bender. Depressing, I was looking forward to it.
On the other hand Predators is coming out on friday. That's going to live up to expectations, right? _________________
