I'm curious if anyone else on this board is planning on playing this when it goes live (on Tuesday).

I have a friend in the beta who says it is the win. I'd like to play it, but I need to find out if there are these annoying things called fees involved, because I might not be able to afford it if there are.

If it's free-to-play, on the other hand...

Yeah, it is pay-to-play.
Current costs scale from $10-$15 a month, depending on the length of subscription (IE six month subscription costs less per month then paying month by month), or the lifetime subscription for $240 bucks (which is only available until Feb 1).

On the other hand: PHASERS! PEWPEWPEW!

You see, the same thing that happens with all games will happen again. That $10-15 will become $40-50 and the lifetime subscription will be something like $400 and I CAN'T AFFORD IT DAMN IT! *twitch* Yahtzee calls it the 'Having Nice Beaches Tax', I call it frickin' Evil.

Not if you hate the beach. (Sand, sand, I hate sand, I loathe it, it's grainy and horrible and it gets everywhere and the only Sand I tolerate is the one from Neverwinter Nights 2, who is awesome in every possible way.)

I guess you wouldn't be a fan of any Dune RPG.

Probably not a fan of Tattoine either.

I see. Hey, I know where you can move to get away from the beach! Arizona!

Yeah, no sand in Arizona at all. Just endless miles of dirt...
