I just cooked four twice-baked potatoes. They are good. Not as good as I was expecting though. I suppose they would have gone better if I put some thought into what else to eat with them. After the potatoes were done, I simply put some black beans in the microwave and called it a meal. And after I started my second potato, I decided to microwave some vegies too. _________________ http://alienlife.thecomicseries.com/

I don't generally venture into the Tavern, but curiosity finally got the better of me. And none too soon, either! This thread has five pages and over a year of discussion and still no one has actually addressed the topic! (Recipes are all fine and well, but they beg the question: what kind of potato are you going to cook?)
Those tiny potatoes with the thin, red skin. I'm not sure what they're called, but they are most definitely "The Absolutely Best Kind of Potato." So tender and tasty! Mmmm. I like them boiled and served with béarnaise sauce, but they're actually pretty good plain as well.
Do not under any circumstances eat them with bacon. |

I've always liked the large potatoes with the thick, brown skin. _________________ It doesn't matter what skin color you are, all humans have the same guts and blood on the inside. Unless there's something wrong with your liver or something like that. You all taste horrible, too. |

There are blue potatoes. I have never had them but this topic of colors reminded me of their existence. _________________ Use your powers for gazpacho.

Any kind that's really mashable, for me. As a Dutchie, we like to mash our food (and make pretty shapes on our plates afterwards), so that's my fav kind of potato. _________________ Goth, 'e cuz bee shown 'n!

Yes! Sooo good.
My only gripe with those is that the eyes are usually pretty deeply indented, so it's harder to... poke them... out...
Geez, it sounds so cruel when I type it out like that. >_>
I also love the super-thin-skinned white potatoes. Boiled, split, topped with melted sharp cheddar and a bit of cold cottage cheese. Delicious.

So how was NaNo this year? (Aside from exhausting, apparently?) XD _________________ "The one concession a sane man will never yield the universe is that of considering it seriously."
