Aja, what's that font you use for True Magic? I like it. |

Laffayette Comic Pro
Very nice, and the creator was generous enough to make it free. :D
Thinking of using it in your own comics? _________________ "The one concession a sane man will never yield the universe is that of considering it seriously."

Yeah. It's almost ideal. And I'll start drawing mini-comics as soon as I get a bit more practice with drawing hands, and postures.
Thanks! |

Okay, so I finally got internet access in my shiny new apartment, so I downloaded the font. Now how do I use this font? It is now a file in a folder on my desktop. The file is a picture of the words "The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog" in various sizes, but there's no Laffayette font listed in my Microsoft Word menu of fonts.
Please tell me I don't have to cut and paste every letter from that picture and try to line them up as straight as I can. |

Have you tried going to Start -> Settings -> Control Panel -> Fonts, and choosing File -> Install New Font? That's what I've been doing. I hear you can also copy and paste a font file directly into the Fonts folder.
There's more installation help here if that doesn't work.
As for drawing hands and postures, I'd recommend these three books by Burne Hogarth.
And by "recommend" I mean "relentlessly pimp to any person who even mentions the subject of art." Seriously, I love that guy's work. My drawing improved a heck of a lot after I read his books.
Anyway, let me know if you can get the font installation to work. _________________ "The one concession a sane man will never yield the universe is that of considering it seriously."

Tusen takk skall du ha!
It took me a while because my computer's control panel is different from yours, but now I can type Laffayette Comic Pro all I want. |
