So, new Who is premiering on BBC America tonight.
Any other fans of The Doctor excited? Been watching Dr Who all day here. It's a pleasant waste of a day.

But they just had a couple new Doctor Whos. Or do you mean they just have a new season?

I gave up on the New Doctor Who halfway through last year's plot arc. I just cannot take it any more! Ever since Moffat took over I hate where the series has gone.

I miss the Sarah Jane Adventures.

Yeah, new Who has gotten pretty dark in the recent seasons, and the new episode that aired last Sunday keeps it up with a depressing twist at the end (sure you can see it coming, but it was meant to be a twist). Apparently the new character is supposed to be a future companion, but with the way that ended it's going to be difficult to do.

Then again, timey wimey, wibbledy wobbledy etc...

It's not even the dark turn. I like dark.

It's just... Too predictable. And the last couple of seasons, it's stopped being The-Doctor-And-Friends-Save-The-World and become Amy-And-Rory-Have-An-Awesome-Timewarping-Daughter. River was great for her first appearance but really? Everything since then has pissed me off.

I only saw the season where Captain Jack was introduced, and I spent most of it trying to decide whether he's offensive to bisexuals. In the end I decided he isn't, but those Daleks are offensive to anyone with ears. So I didn't watch anymore.
If someone can recommend some good Dalekless episodes, I may check them out.

Good Dalekless episodes, eh?

* Blink
* Midnight
* School Reunion
* The Doctor's Wife (WRITTEN BY NEIL GAIMAN!!!)
* Turn Left
* The Van Gogh Episode the name of which I keep forgetting

My six favourite episodes of the new series. Blink and Midnight are creepy, School Reunion for Sarah Jane, The Doctor's Wife for being one of the few new episodes I actually like, Turn Left for some AMAZING acting, and Van Gogh because it will break your heart.

In regards to The Doctor's Wife, it seems that Gaiman won a Hugo for that screenplay, and is writing another episode

Says Gaiman: ""Only a fool or a mad man would try to do it again . . . so I'm on the third draft."

Also, the Van Gogh episode was titled "Vincent and the Doctor". I accidently got one of my co-workers at Dish addicted to Dr Who with that episode.

I'd also suggest Voyage of the Damned.
