Aaaand they're back. Looks like these recruiters are wearing the same uniform in that last panel. Also, the blonde haired one has...an odd looking....undershirt(?) on in panel 2, with some cryptic symbols, particularly that crazy looking one at the bottom.

Secretive behavior, uniforms, hidden meeting area...this can mean only one thing: A welcome into the Brotherhood of the Glorious Tentacle. The crazy guy upstairs is probably just a trainee they're messing around with. "Ok, to really draw in the numbers, you need to look as fanatical and wide-eyed as humanly possible. Blinking turns away the crowds."

Praise to Lord Octopod!

Seriously though, what they're recruiting for seems to be well known to the bar regulars...but that place seems to draw a strange crowd (People with green hair? WEIRD...), so it could be anything from a resistance movement to an ultra-exclusive cocoa party.

Also, don't they know a high speed seed planter when they see one?

Anyways, welcome back Aja! I do hope your family member is on the mend.

Exclusive cocoa party! An intriguing theory. Perhaps they were sufficiently impressed by Kiku's cocoa-quaffing skills to invite the entire group.

I guess modern city folks just aren't familiar with rustic country farming implements. :D

(And yes, thanks for asking. I think he's doing better!)

Maybe that shirt represents a band. Or a frat. But the design looks quite familiar.

I do believe that Wayne and Jim are keeping much better company then they did in the old days. No Jerky rations for them anymore ^^ and their digs are much more chic now Smile Love how you tied them in and even kept the compensation thought bubbles. Cheese!

Hey, Elsa! It's nice to see you here. :D Welcome to the forum.

...And ooh, good memory -- I think you're the first person to spot that connection. Wink

Oh. My. Lucideus.
Shocked

I cannot believe I never noticed this...similarity (shall we call it?) before!
Makes me yearn even more passionately for the key to this "font!"
(I was able to parse the great trans-dimensional language back in the day thanks to a rosetta stone of sorts created by Fenris Vile... But I was never able to figure out the script rather similar to the one featured here, despite my best efforts. Puppy Eyes Woe!)

Ah yes, I was mean and redesigned it when I turned it into a font. XD Not to worry, it should be possible to figure out when more of it has appeared.
(As for Jim's shirt, it's more or less equivalent to his old one.) Wink

Very well-spotted, Elsa! If I recall correctly, Jim's shirt read STUD*.
*this don't constitute as a spoiler, right? Wink
I'm a horrible person and bookmarked the archives, so now with four whole letters I can translate what [--- ---] yells after Jen and [-----] skedaddle with the [-----]. Totally*.

*maybe*
*probably not

It was much easier to translate the eldritch language (though there were a few things that tripped me up) - please tell me you're not going to redesign that!
