*cheers*

It's great to see that this story is still alive. Cheese! (And Bob, too.)

This thread is a Creepy Bob summoning circle. Sly Wink

Quote:
"Halt! Halt right there!"
Missy drew the cart to a stop before the approaching guard.
"You are at the gates of Esche in the Duchy of Eastphalia. State your names and your business here."
"I'm Missy and these are my grandparents, Didi and Garumpf. We're traveling to Oldenstad for the funeral of my Great-Aunt."
The guard looked them up and down.
"Your names are Missy, Didi and Garumpf?" He placed emphasis on the "umpf".
"Yes we're-"
"Please step out of the cart," the guard stated sternly.
"What? We're-"
"Uhh, Missy," Jack pointed to three more guards coming towards them.
"What's going on?" Missy demanded.
"Ma'am, please do not make me ask you again. Step out of the cart." The guard flourished his halberd, not in a usual how-do-ye-do but rather in a I-have-a-weapon-and-I-know-how-to-use-it sort of way.

Once the rites to summon the Bob into the Circle have been completed, the Bob is best appeased by an offering of harebrained stories.

Quote:
War is hell. A lizard man was dazedly wandering amidst the rubble searching for his severed tail, seemingly oblivious to the battle raging around him. Since the Mad Lizard Men of !Mzt't automatically regrew their tails, this was a rather pointless exercise.
The mangled bodies of Westphalians littered the smoking wreckage in multitudes, but they were joined more and more by imps turned into pin cushions by the gnomes' crossbows or cut into ribbons by the lizard men's steel claws. The battle for the capital was slowly reaching a stalemate, albeit one ultimately doomed to fall without Heroic aid.

Meanwhile, our Heroes had assumed the position against the cart. After finding nothing suspicious in the cart, a guard was gloving up. A rubbery slap could be heard.
"The Didi thinks this is no way to treat a lady."
"That's the least of our problems," whispered Missy. "If they examine Jack too closely they're going to ask some really pressing questions."
"I don't care what anyone says about 'remaining inconspicious'," hissed Jack, "the second I feel anything going where it's not supposed to go I'm turning myself ethereal!"

Love the Icthyomancer.
Honestly, if I wasn't so attached to this box, I think I'd cut that face out and use it as my avatar instead.

Eehee, that's awesome. I love the contrast between the confident Jack and the grumpy, semi-corporeal Jack. Cheese!

Also, of course, The Alphonse's apron.

Suddenly, a dragon came out of the sky and rained fiery death down onto the guards, Missy, and The Alphonse. Jack, having turned ethereal the second he saw the dragon, was in no danger.
The dragon, belatedly realizing that the old people and girl were adventurers, thought it wisest to kill the guards (that had broken into her home and stole all of her gold) and then leave before the adventurers attacked her.
So the dragon did just that.

Ten seconds later, the dragon flew off in victory, celebrating her triumph over the rat-faced theives and spewing fire over the sky out of happiness.

Ah, I did think it a little disheartening that they seemed to ellicit no response from the founder of the story. Better late than never, I guess. :D
Thank you!
