My favorites are:
Cheese
Chocolate
Potatoes
I'm also a big fan of beef, but it's not something I'd eat every day. |

King Crab legs
Shrimp
Meat Loaf (don't knock it.)
Tuna (I like fish)
Turkey
And a good juicy steak.
(I have been a vegetarian for over two years so I have not eaten that stuff in a loooooooong time. I do eat tuna on occassion) |
Can't knock a good meat loaf, and I really don't understand why it gets a bad rap. There's very few foods that can be put on a plate that will bring back happy childhood memories like a slab of meatloaf and a big scoop of mashed potatoes.
Turkey is also on that list. _________________

Favorite foods? Well, I guess mention could be made of my soy burgers, with crème fraiche seasoned with pressed garlic, between whole wheat buns.
Yes, I probably make the sissiest burgers ever. Hey, at least I don't have brie on 'em. _________________ http://creepybob.deviantart.com (Warning: Contains Horrors) |

I have no idea what crème fraiche is, but I want that recipe.
Actually, I do have an idea what crème fraiche is. Cream cheese with strawberry flavoring? But, you know, I have no good idea what crème fraiche is. _________________ http://alienlife.thecomicseries.com/

Oh, if only we lived in a world where an online encyclopedia existed so we could find any random trivial bits of knowledge that we might need at any given moment.
Wait! My prayers! They've been answered!
wikipedia wrote: | Crème fraiche (French pronunciation: [kʁɛm fʁɛʃ], "fresh cream"; from French crème fraîche) is a soured cream containing about 28% butterfat and with a pH of around 4.5. It is soured with bacterial culture, but is thicker, and less sour than sour cream
Originally a French product, it is available in many countries. It is traditional to France, Belgium, the Netherlands, and Scandinavia.

Damnit, why didn't I ask for a winning lottery ticket? _________________

Ah, I forgot that crème fraiche is quite uncommon outside continental Europe and Scandinavia. Despite the very "le elegant french cuisine" name, there's actually shelves of it in the dairy section of any supermarket over here.
And yes, it is most delicious. _________________ http://creepybob.deviantart.com (Warning: Contains Horrors) |

I did not eat this.
But even the description sounds tasty enough to put everything that follows on the list of amazing foods.
Stale wrote: | The Menu:
We arrived very early, our table was already setup.
We were seated, the GM acted as our personal waiter. And we were presented with a list of cocktails, all handmade, all spectacular. Everything, even down to the ginger ale, is made in house. Amazing. God Damn spooning Amazing.
I ordered a cocktail, a Bourbon Briar. Bourbon, Lime Juice, Celery Bitters, and Coca-Cola Reduction. Un-Godly Good. Pure Evil. It hits your tongue in like 3 places at once. As Munkus said, "It tastes like a Rainbow".
First Course: Oyster on the halfshell with beluga caviar and salmon roe
It tasted like the ocean. Everything good and pure and wonderful. Slurped in one shot it melted in your mouth and made my head spin.
Second Course: White georgia shrimp in a parmesan ham broth with summer squash and squash blossoms.
This was incredible. You could taste the field the squash was from, you could taste the ham and how it was perfectly smoked.
Third Course: Pasta pillows with corn puree inside, corn, and garlic sauce - lobster bacon, Green garlic, sweet corn
This was hands-down, the most amazing thing I'd ever eaten. It was magic. I didn't know corn could taste this good. I didn't know you could make bacon from Lobster, let me repeat that, This spooning WIZARD made bacon out of LOBSTER. How? I have no idea. I don't know. I don't want to know. It's magic. I want to die knowing that somewhere in the world this man can do that, and is doing that. It is enough.
Fourth Course: Maple and sourgum glazed lamb belly on summer sucatash
Lamb Belly. spooning Lamb Belly. My God. Lamb Belly.
Fifth Course: Seared ribeye medallion on "seeds of legion" farrow wheat, blueberry citrus chutney , miatake mushroom
One of the finest Steaks I'd ever eaten. Bessie lived just down the road and died happy, you could taste it.
Sixth Course: Hotchoccolate - flourless chocolate cookie, chocolate ice cream with smoked paprika, red pepper, and cinnamon, toasted citrus meringue, peanut pudding with chili oil
Amazing, spicy, God-Like in both it's complexity, and simplicity. Doesn't make sense? Not supposed to. I can't describe this. |
Taken from an awesome and depressing (and fairly NSFW) thread off the PA forums.
