I'm curious if any of you have seen the new Alice in Wonderland, and your thoughts on it if you have seen it.
Personally, I found it entertaining. But then, I'm easily entertained and a fan of Tim Burton's other works. I do have to say though that the Tweedles fall well into that narrow gap between inhuman characters and actual humans to creep me out.

It's called the Uncanny Valley effect. I havn't seen Alice (YET), but I've encountered the effect recently watching James May's future technology show. A robot that looks too human, but not quite human enough. *whimpers* Scared the crap out of my entire family.

I've never been affected by any uncanny valley phenomena. Perhaps I have watched too many movies.

Anyhow, isn't the new Alice in Wonderland supposed to be creepy or was that just the Marilyn Manson one?

I don't know if it was supposed to be creepy. Really, it played out like a pretty standard fantasy movie. Chosen one has doubts, gets over them, and beats the big bad.

Just the Tweedles, for some reason, creeped me out.

Matt Lucas is pretty creepy as it is. I don't suppose the effects made him look any better.
