First of all I want to say hello to all. I'm happy to see so many friendly folks here on the True Magic forum.

Secondly, yay for Sparks! Since mine went live I've seen a noticeable increase in visits to my site. Thanks to Aja for the great concept, and also for the gorgeous graphics for my banners.

Thirdly, reading the latest news post (below the latest comic) I had this thought:

For those who currently don't have a lot of spare cash there are two possible responses. One is to think "I don't have much to give, sorry" (and then do nothing), and the other is to say, "I don't have much to give, but I'll give what I can."

People might be surprised how fast even small donations can add up, and I'm sure every one of them lifts the spirits of the recipient.

Here's hoping that you get lots of participation, Aja. You deserve it!

It's nice to hear from a happy customer. ^^ Puts more faith in the donation process.

I can't drop $100 all at once, but hopefully I'll get there in small spurts. XD ha ha.

Hello, Avalonne! Welcome to the forum. :D

Thank you for being the first Spark, and especially for the feedback and encouragement. I'm glad to hear that you're getting new visitors! Your site deserves plenty of 'em. (And here, have an appropriate title.) ^^

Yes, the boost to morale is worth at least as much as the financial support. Whatever the amount is, just seeing that someone decided to send a donation cheers me up immensely.

Speaking of which, thank you, Liliy! A bit at a time works, and it would be awesome to have WAM as a Spark. That's definitely the kind of site I'm happy to promote.

By the way, I decided to change the maximum number of Sparks from 500 to 100. (See, I told you I was still tweaking it.) I just realized that the ad space would do everyone more good if there were fewer total Sparks. Now even when they're all taken, each banner will appear more often.

As always, go ahead and tell me if you think of other ways to make this better!

I hope it's a success. It'll be fun to see the spark-ad-board fill up. ^^ Though I'm sure at the moment Avalonne is appreciating the monopoly (at least for a little bit). :D

Probably a stupid question, but I have nothing to advertise - can I donate anyway? Razz

I read through the Sparks about page, and I said: "I don't really need a Spark yet, I want a T-shirt!" Prince Cedric, nearby, immediately went LOL. Cheese! He may claim he didn't, but he did. Really.
My reasons are that I want to get my art blog a) on WordPress and b) a lot more current, and also that Hero shirt is just so awesome and no one got it for me for Christmas so I'm going to buy it very very soon. After I buy that Sugoi running jacket I've also had me eye on.
Good luck, Aja! This is a pretty cool idea!

Definitely. Cheese! That would be most welcome and appreciated.

(And later, if you suddenly think of something you want to advertise, you can. ^^ But it's certainly not required.)

Thanks, Zela!

And ooh, that reminds me, I want one of those shirts someday. I bought one last year for Lindsey (whose idea it was), and forgot to get another for myself when I had enough saved up. XD

Tell me how you like it whenever you acquire one!

After much delay, I've finally made the promised donation. So that dear Aja shall not have to leave her home. *hugs*

Oh hey, that was you? Neato. That cheered me up when I saw it this morning, and it will certainly help. :D

Thank you!

*hugs*

I would wholeheartedly donate if I had a job. I hope things do get better for both of you, and that you manage to keep your apartment.
